Art Brass Plating, Inc. was established prior to the turn of the 20th century as a manufacturer of builder’s hardware items such as: brass cast mail boxes, bank and elevator type ornamental brass and bronze fixtures. Around 1915, nickel plating was added to the operation. Sometime prior to W.W.II the company concentrated on becoming a decorative plating and polishing shop; doing some cad, zinc, and silver in addition to copper, nickel, chrome, brass, and bronze.
When the current owner purchased
Art Brass Plating, Inc. on April 1, 1979, there were
only three employees, including the owner. The processes were copper, nickel, chrome, brass, and polishing.
Currently there are over 55 employees working three shifts.
Art Brass Plating expanded their
customer base to include: wood
stoves,
office equipment, store fixtures, after market manufacturers, and also
recycling of automobile steel bumper and plastic bumper covers for the collision
repair industry. The company expanded into new buildings to house equipment to
accommodate the growth in the plating and polishing processes as well as a
conveyor driven powder-coating operation.
